Digital Videos

In week 5 of Managing E-Learning, we had a look at Digital Videos, and in particular Movie Maker. Here is my attempt in using this program:

This was fun to play around with, but I don't think that I could use it in my classroom. It is more of a program for ICT or multimedia subjects. I think that if I used this is my PE lessons, for example, students would go too off task and it wouldn't be relating to the task at all.
However, digital videos in general would be very helpful in my classroom. Using youtube clips or other form of digital videos to explain a concept or a skill could benefit students who are visual learners. For students who want to improve their current technique, for example their serve in table tennis, a video recorder can be used to tape their game and then later on view it, slow it down, pause if needed and take note of and correct technique. The purpose of videoing them play is that they are able to watch themselves and see where they are going and find a solution to improve their performance.

  1. Hannah, I agree with you. Some of the ICT tools are more suitable for a specific subject than others.
